I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. The Kincke family had a fun filled, yet relaxing Christmas Day. Many laughs, delicious food, and as always, great drinks. I’m looking forward to bringing in 2010 with more fun ahead! I predict a very productive year. Enjoy what’s left of 2009.

A Month Later
12.13
So now over one month after my organizational troubles, I’ve made such headway. My studio is so almost done. It’s now a workable space with only one table and my secretariat. I have gone through books, magazines, and product. I sorted my current projects so that I may actually get them completed. I created an “In-box” for memorabilia to scrap. Now all I need to do is finish putting the non-crafty books away, sell the file cabinet, and get my framing section of the studio up.
Lately I’ve been eliminating my magazine collection. As much as I love having them for inspiration, the many issues cause a space problem. So my solution is to go through each one and select the layouts, projects, tips, etc. that I like. Then I cut them out and paste them in a notebook with a little note about why I selected it and how I want to use the tip. This notebook is now only 28 pages and has cleared up at least a dozen magazines. It has been great to take with me to crops and glance through for inspiration. I bet this notebook will be my go to tool.
Organizational Troubles
11.09
So I have been such a procrastinator. With everything that’s been going on, I haven’t made time to clean up let alone scrapbook. I’m just as tired of excuses as you are, so tomorrow (as I work today from 6am-10pm) I will finish picking up the room. It’s such a mess that I’m not even going to attempt organizing my scrappy stuff until I can move around easily in there. I’ll then go from there.
I do have to say I did start by going through the file cabinet that we keep in the room and now we’ve decided to sell it as we don’t want to keep that much paper ever again. Such a waste. Shredded years off.
Scrap Pink Success . . . Now what?
10.04
Thanks to everyone involved with Scrap Pink 2009! We had too much fun.
So now that it’s over, I’m at a loss. My time has been so consumed that I haven’t focused on anything else. Probably not the best idea I know, but it was worth it.
What to do? I could set another goal. Sounds good, huh? So let’s see what needs to be done. Well, as you all know, organization is an on-going project. Then there’s those altered/artistic projects I started years ago and have not gotten very far with them. What else, oh yeah, scrapbooking for fun. We have to remember to make time to enjoy our personal projects and hobbies.
Decisions, decisions. . . After long, hard thoughts, I’ve decided the most pertinent of the above is my space. I just can’t work in a mess without a clear area or even a chair. So, for the next two weeks I’ll be cleaning up, organizing, and maybe even throwing out.
Starting this evening, I will make my space usable again!
**Any suggestions on how to organize with zero to no money, please post a comment.**

What’s Been Happening
08.16
I’ve been so busy building my local scrapbooking group – Scrappin’ In The Streetcar – and planning our big event next month – Scrap Pink – that I’ve fallen behind in my personal scrapping and posting.
Now that’s not to say that I haven’t gotten anything done because I do get some pages completed at our weekly scrap events, but I haven’t made time to do it on my own. That’s ok with me because our group is starting to develop and we have some regulars. These are some wonderful ladies and I’m enjoying their company and scrapping talents.
Also, Scrap Pink is coming along. I’m close to nailing down a location and I’m working on getting food worked out. Once that is complete, I can set a fee and start registration. YAY!
So my request to all of you out there is if you would like to become a sponsor and donate to this awesome fundraiser (Scrap Pink info), please contact me asap via my Scrap Pink email or my Scrap Pink contact form. I’m looking for a donated (or very discounted) location, donated food like snacks, meals, drinks, or desserts, and of course prizes that scrappers would enjoy like scrapbooking supplies, gift certificates to services that they would use, coupons, etc. In exchange for sponsorship, you will be advertised on both our Scrap Pink website and our public Meetup.com website, in any publications, and in person at our event. Also, if you would like to register and attend Scrap Pink with your donation, you have the option to host a vendor table to display and sell your products and services. Thanks in advance.

Latest Projects
05.11
So I’ve been working on some projects lately that have kept me busy. I just hosted an all day event on Saturday that went over very well. We started at noon and didn’t stop til about 11pm. . . almost 12 hours of scrapbooking, what’s better than that?! During that time I scrapped the rest of my New York City photos comprising of 13 pages. Wow! That’s more than 1 page an hour in addition to chatting, cooking, and playing games with prizes. I must brag – I’m good.
Anyway, here are some shots of selected pages from this event:
Before that, I completed three swaps from my previous meetup groups: a mini album page about me, a border swap for spring, and a color challenge card swap. Unfortunately, I didn’t get photos of the mini album or border swap, but here’s a photograph of the card. The color challenge was to use Pink, Green, and White as the main colors in the card.
What inspired this design was a combination of a 12×12 layout in a magazine and the “Welcome Spring” sheet of vellum I found. The layout featured the torn top and bottom layer and the grid-like spread. The spring paper followed the challenge perfectly, so I went from there. I enjoyed using a scrapbook layout to help with a card. At my all day event, I had a card make-n-take for Mother’s Day. The main point I made was that you can take 5-10 minutes after you complete a scrapbook layout and use the scraps to make a coordinating card. You can even use the layout to mirror on the card.
So I challenge you with this – when you complete your next scrapbook layout, use the scraps to make a card following the same theme and idea. Post comments and a link to your completed challenge.
Jazzfest has taken over . . .
04.30
So my last post was almost a month ago and I have no excuses, but my explanation is Jazzfest. It has taken over my life, especially these last few weeks. With a brief break between these two weekends, I found time to catch up on sleep, sort through some photographs, and actually scrapbook a little. I added some photos on my photography website from the 1st weekend and will add more from the 2nd next week.
As for the scrapbooking, I’ve been working on swaps for my previous meetup group ladies. Next I will create my make-n-take project for the all day scrapbooking event taking place next Saturday in celebration of National Scrapbook Day (one week later), Cinco de Mayo, and Mother’s Day. Feel free to check the group out here – http://meetup.com/scrappin-in-the-streetcar
I will post later with more updates and hopefully some photos of my latest projects. Until then . . . Fest on Baby!
